Barack

So today I got the honor of President Barack Obama visiting my school. A unique distinction for anyone, it was really cool seeing the man in person. It's really crazy seeing the leader of the free world so close. Having said all of that this video is about none of those things it is a hilarious cover of Waka Flaka's video Hard in the Paint!

Cudi's Back

Unfortunately for Kid Cudi but fortunately for us one of his songs leaked. "Maniac" ft. Cage looks to be one of the singles off Cudi's sophomore effort, Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager set to drop November 9th. It looks like Mr. Mescudi has found his magic one again with his plunge into the darkness and seemingly hypnotic baseline.

Drake Showing His Range

We all knew Drake could rap, even sing occasionally but with his new project "It's Never Enough" he promises to exclusively demonstrate his vocal range and focus solely on R&B. If all of the installments are like this he may have to think about giving even more attention to this fading art form.

Uniforms feat. Maria Nordström - March of No Coincidence

It's always a refreshing feel when a clothing company combines both fashion and art after all they are arguably the same thing. Uniforms of the Decade did that with this almost Across the Universe style music video featuring Maria Nordstrom.

Props to Cyanatrend on the find.

Matt and Kim- "Cameras"

Matt and Kim's "Cameras" has been making it's way on the blogosphere, and my playlist, for quite some time now, but I feel it's only right that I mention this synth-pop duo. They lace this track with a melodic beat that carries the whole song. This track is a definite must listen as we can only hope they provide some of the same genius they infused within this unique track. Enjoy.

Bag Raiders - Shooting Stars

I came across this song interestingly enough on the HBO show, How to Make it in America. "Shooting Stars" starts slow but crescendos into an uplifting toe tapping track. This song has seen numerous plays on my playlist and after you give it a listen it'll be at the top of yours.

However, be aware of the video it leaves a lot to be desired for such a good song. Enjoy.

Here appears to be the artwork for Mr. Cudi's upcoming November 9th Album.

Keep Moving Forward

It's pretty funny that Mad Men would be the show that brings to the forefront the nature of some of the anxieties I feel and I know many others feel as they head into this stage of their life. That uncertain feeling that comes when you think about your future. More nervous than excitement it seems to have consumed the majority of my thoughts, while trying to "take everyday as it comes."

The truth is that these are the most exciting times in our lives and it shoudn't be a source of fear or unwarranted anxiety but a journey that we embrace, and understand we don't control any part of the future, but as Don says we can stop mourning our childhoods and begin to welcome the uncertainties of the future...loosely paraphrased of course.

Drake & Nicki Strike back

From their August 27th mixtape, Bonnie & Clyde 2.0, Drake and Nicki lay down some gems. Some of their music has already been release some have not but with tracks like "Right Thru Me" by Nicki and "What If I Kissed You" by Drake it's clear they aim to remain in our consciousness for the foreseeable future.

Mickey Factz

I finally got around to Mickey Factz 7th album "I'm Better Than You."It has received critical acclaim from bloggers hypebeasts alike and from what I've heard all of it is deserved. Two tracks really struck me Diamond Dust and Mona Lisa, but don't take it from me give it a listen yourself.

The First

In writing this first post I was a bit at a loss for what I wanted to start writing about, but as I kept going I came to the realization that I don't have to cover just one thing or just post once a day but it can be about anything and what I want to focus on are the challenges that face the urban traveler, those who are at that point in life in which they are trying to figure out their place in the world.

As someone who is a couple months from hitting the real world this fact resonates with me profoundly and I want to share my input, get yours, as well as try to enjoy the process and journey that is life. This blog is about art, music, fashion and everything in between that relates to our generation and where we figure in in the grand scheme of things.
